JUKKEN JUDO: 유권도 = 유도 + 태권도
It is a comprehensive all-around fighting style of Conde Koma. Conde Koma (Mitsuyo Maeda) was a student of Kodokan and is known as the Godfather of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu because of his teachings to the Gracie family. Conde Koma became a professional fighter who won over 2,000 professional bouts. Conde Koma Jukken Judo style combines throwing from Judo, groundwork from Ju-Jitsu, striking from boxing, and kicking from Taekwondo. If you are seeking to hone the highest level of physical fitness and fighting spirit, then Judo is the right sport for you. Judo reveals one's true character and personal responsibility. Judo requires tenacity, strength, explosiveness, power, balance, technique, and endurance. Judo is not easy. Some say Judo is very hard. I do not disagree. I hope to make Judo one of the toughest challenges you will ever endure in life. I teach with your best interest in my heart because Judo is what I love. Just as Dr. Jigoro Kano, the founder of Judo, envisioned, I aim to develop my students into fine citizens through physical education of Judo. All in a friendly accepting environment that makes the Irvine Judo Club a unique, and welcoming place for both the novice and the elites. I take great pride in keeping the training environment safe, friendly, and clean. The club is based on the principle of “Mutual Respect and Benefit”. So self-respect and respect for each other always come first. Joining our judo team is by invitation only.
